Project: Arundel House – Phase 1 – Office Refurbishment
Details: In August 2013, Horizon PCS Ltd were commissioned by SHU to provide QS / Cost Management services on the refurbishment of Arundel House. The University had recently acquired the building, an existing 5-6 storey office block, and intended to bring it back into use for University staff. This was to be completed across 2 phases, with Phase 1 being works to the existing building fabric e.g. roof covering replacement, window replacement, concrete repairs, internal strip out, asbestos removal and re-newal of building services (infrastructure). The project was tendered in Nov / Dec ’13, with the successful Contractor being appointed in Jan ’14. This was Management Cubed Ltd (M3), based in Sheffield. The project started on-site in Feb ’14 and is due for completion by the end of Aug ’14 (approx. 25 weeks contract period).
